Make a mission statement as specific as possible for your project/dream/goal.

Make sure your goal is as specific as possible. Let’s use the goal of ” I want to be rich”, as an example. If you have in your mind that you want to be rich, as a goal, you are being too general. The goal is so general, that you will not even know if you made it or not. Describe rich. Are you referring to monetary value? If you are earning $10,000 today, how much more do you have to make to consider yourself “rich”?

If you say, “I want to have in my possession $300,000, by December 31, 2020, you have now made a specific target. This new target is so specific. On December 31, 2020, you can know definitely whether you made your goal, or not. Does that make sense?

When you give a specific date in your goal, then you will know between now and then, how much progress, you are or are not making. When you have an idea that you are far away from your specific goal, then it is possible to make adjustments along the way.

I hope this helps you. Set your goal as specific as possible. This will increase your chance of success.

I wish you the best of luck.

Pick a dream…and GO FOR IT!

Plan.

“Plan” is the second of Four phases to Success that you have to go through to be successful. Be honest with yourself when you make your plan. Life is full of challenges and opportunities. And all plans have unforeseen obstacles. But remember, it is YOUR DREAM.

My suggestion to you is to break your plan down into segments. What I have seen happen is when the goal is not reached instantly, or when you WANT it to happen, frustration sets in. A lot of goals are not reached, and people give up on their dreams. This is not good.

I put my goal on 3 X 5 cards. My end goal is on one card. And then I had a paper clip with other cards behind the main card. I broke down my plan into little tasks that I can accomplish much easier. I  put all my social media addresses the same card. And I listed each media on a line on the card. When I signed up for Facebook, for example, I wrote down my username on the card with the password, and I knew I had accomplished that task. So now, I have one card, where I can see all my usernames in one place. I did not do this in one day. but over time, I could see how the card was filling up. I felt so much better accomplishing something. I did not reach my final goal. But I had something tangible that showed me, “You are further towards your goal then when you started.” Does that make sense to you?

Another benefit of using cards is that you can carry them with you during the day. And if you get a good idea in your travels, you an jot it down, and go over it in detail at your leisure.

A third benefit of using 3 X 5 cards, is that the cards are your plan, and they help to keep you on your course. When frustration or exhaustion sets in, you might tend to move on to something else. And start all over. You don’t want to keep starting over. When you are tired, just review your cards. Look at the progress you have made. Look at the plan. When you review your cards, you will see that, “Yes, it is MY DREAM.” Reviewing your cards, will bring you back on track.

Step by step, you will get closer to achieving your goal, whatever it is.

If you have a goal, or a dream, you should really stick with it. It is YOUR DREAM. GO FOR IT!
