Be grateful for the things you have

How do you spend your 24 hours in the day? Do you spend it being sorry that you are not where you want to be in life? For me, I have learned to be grateful for the things that I do have.

I have gotten into the habit of starting my day being grateful for what I have in life. I am grateful for my family, my friends, and having good health. I am also grateful that I have written my plans down. My written notes help bring back on course.

It is easy to be grateful for the the things I have. When I am sad, it is harder to get out of the “rut”. If I start my day off on a positive note, I have more energy and motivation to brush off my daily challenges.

Try it. Don’t read your emails or watch the TV news until you have listed at least 5 things you are grateful for in your life. Do this for 30 days. If you have to, write a note to yourself, “Before I start my day, I have to list 5 things I am grateful for”. I promise you that after a couple of weeks, you will want to do this without the note. You will notice a huge difference in your life.

When you start your day on a positive note, you have more energy to deal with the challenges.
